Flower Lampshade Tutorial

So my friend who is also a blogger over at My Inspired Nest has an AMAZING tutorial on making a much CHEAPER version of this Pottery Barn Lamp. She is so crafty!

Send her some love by following her through GFC. She's also a military spouse and mommy. Her hubby just got out of the Marine Corps.
Thank you lovelies!

Oh Thursday

So far we have had quite a day!
Our morning started out by going to the mall with Marine Girlfriend and her family. I had fun DS didn't. But what boy likes going to the mall in the first place!
I went into Old Navy found a couple shirts for $5 and under went to the register and remembered it was Military Discount week! Yay. I totally forgot that the 1st four days of every month Old Navy gives military members and their dependents 10% off. So my two shirts totalled $7.80. How wonderful is that?

Guess what was next? Pretzel sticks from Auntie Anne's! YUMMY. I get the cheese dip...do you?

After the mall we found a Chinese restaurant to eat lunch at and that's when my fun dissipated. My toddler didn't want anything to do with sitting down and I wasn't about to let him run around the whole restaurant. Thank GOODNESS that there was a toy car in my friend's van or else I would have ripped all my hair out.  Baby cakes must have had way too many Ants in His Pants!

I also don't think my baby is feeling very well as he has a horsey cough and is breathing heavily. He's taking a nap right now so hopefully some rest will make him feel better and he wont be as cranky.

THEN! The fun part. Once DS wakes up from his nap we are off the Marine Girlfriend's house for some sewing lessons by none other than her Mama! I am SUPER excited as you may all know, because I've started my venture in sewing recently. She has all the tools a sewer needs and she has secrets too! I can't WAIT to find out those secrets! My sewing lessons will probably be a couple times a week.

OH! I am selling Mary Kay now. I will not be bombarding my blog with MK posts but I will have a page link on my blog which will keep up to date information in there and how to order from me! Military families automatically will receive 10% off their orders. I will accept and be placing orders the last week of every month!

CLOSED! bumGenius 4.0 Artist Series Review&Giveaway

WELCOME to the 2nd Birthday Celebration!!

Okay! I couldn't wait until tomorrow to post this! I am so excited! In celebration of our son's 2nd birthday this is the first review and giveaway in a series leading up until his birthday on April 3rd!

Sponsored By: SOFT AND COZY BABY

A BIG shout out goes to Soft and Cozy Baby from Hampden, Maryland. They have a beautiful storefront and a great online store.

So far the customer service has been great! I received my FLUFFY mail in quick time (granted I live one state away!)

Okay, Okay. On to the review of the diaper. I was given the bumGenius 4.0 Artist Series in Retail Therapy. First of all isn't this ADORABLE? When I was prepping them to wear (washing) I air dried the cover and put the inserts in the dryer with a few other inserts of another brand. Let's just say my BG (BumGenious) inserts were dried LONG before the "other" brand.
Retail Therapy

This diaper comes with two inserts (newborn size and one adjustable). The larger one that is adjustable has two different sizing options with snaps on it. I used the first snap to have a little extra soaker support for my heavy wetter toddler son (23 months old). It's a pocket diaper, as you may have already noticed and stuffing is such a breeze.

Having all the snaps on the front kind of scared me at first ( I use mostly applix or the ones that do have snaps there arent as many) but then once I figured out how to snap them and adjust the fit on my son it was a perfect fit. I really liked the rise in the front on my son. The elastic on the legs was a comfortable fit around my son's chubby thighs without them squeezing too tight. And doesn't he look super CUTE in Retail Therapy??!!

BTW: He had a HUGE yucky mess awaiting for me; so I can officially say this diaper holds EVERYTHING in very well. If the elastic around the legs was not a good fit I would have had a poopy mess every where!

Toddler Tantrums

HELP! I know my son is almost two (next month yikes!) but I guess when it comes to the "terrible twos" I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

Every time we go to the grocery store he trows a fit. As soon as I put him in the shopping cart, he throws a fit. When was past a certain food that he wants (strawberries) he throws a HUGE fit. He's always unhappy the whole time we are there.

So I thought to myself what about bringing snacks with me that he can munch on, like his beloved strawberries? NOPE he still throws fits. I get very stern with him as soon as he sits in the cart and I let him know that he needs to be a good boy but it doesn't seem to help.

He has done this now for the past four trips. Last night I was so close to having an anxiety attack. He was stressing me out, I couldn't finish my shopping, we got in the car, drove to McDonald's and I bought myself a Carmel Frappe and got my DS some juice! When I got home I was cooled off enough to tell my husband that I am NOT going grocery shopping with DS anytime in the future and that grocery shopping will be done only on the weekends for now!

Okay mommas...I need some advice. How do you handle these tantrams? Do your little ones throw fits at the store? What do you do when they do?

Thank you!

Sponsors Needed!

Good morning everyone!

As you know tomorrow is the start of an AMAZING fluffy giveaway! To celebrate my son turning TWO on April 3rd I am looking for TWO more sponsors willing to donate items for reviews and giveaways! I am planning on hosting one giveaway a week until I reach April 3rd!

I cannot believe it has been almost two years since I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy.

This birthday will be extra special as daddy will be home for the birthday! Daddy had to miss the 1st Birthday due to being on his one year tour in Japan. :(

Thank you everyone in advanced!
